 The major Swedish medical school now saysthat they will recommend face masks for the upcoming term. The official resistance to face masks seems more and more baroque. One could think that it was a matter of all of us cutting off our right arms or something. It is actually about a minor effort.

To me, there are now only two possible motifs for the resistance against face masks among the mighty. One is prestige and the other is a hidden agenda, aiming att herd immunity.

KI går nu ut med att man rekommenderar munskydd inför höstterminen. Det officiella motståndet mot munskydd ter sig allt mer barockt. Man kan tro att det rör sig om att vi alla skall hugga av oss högra armen eller något liknande. Det rör sig faktiskt om en ganska enkel sak. 

För mig finns det nu bara två motiv till maktens motstånd mot munskydd: Prestige eller en dold agenda som syftar till flockimmunitet.

13 August, Thursday, Day 135

In Brussels and Finland, face masks are now recommended. In the USA 125 million face masks are purchased for school children. In Sweden, Tegnell is still considering if face masks are good or not. What is wisdom and what is not in this?

Text-TV calmly informs us on the situation in other nations, which as such is good. The people that normally like to be upset in media are now invisible. The political opposition seems to be firmly asleep. Odd researchers act as friends of face masks, but in general, it is remarkably calm, when a hurricane could be needed.

I Bryssel inför man munskydd, Finland inför munskydd och i USA köps 125 miljoner munskydd in till skolbarnen. I Sverige sitter Tegnell och funderar på om munskydd är bra. Vad är klokskap och vad är det inte? 

Text-TV påpekar försynt hur det förhåller sig i andra länder, vilket i och för sig är bra. Alla som normalt sett gillar att vara uppröra i media ligger lågt. Oppositionen verkar ligga i sommardvala. En och annan forskare uppträder som munskyddens vänner, men i övrigt är det märkligt lugnt. Stilje, när det kanske behövs en orkan.

Professors Lars Calmfors and Göran K Hansson have written things that seem wise in a Swedish daily. Words like face masks and prestige are used. 

The PM maybe should start to listen to more people than the ones at the Authority for Peoples Health. I just happened to think about Rasputin.

To slightly leave the topic for this blog: Our Minister for Foreign Affairs seems to be better than a papier- maché figure, a statement that is not true for all Swedish ministers.

Lars Calmfors och Göran K Hansson skriver idag kloka saker i DN. Ord som munskydd och prestige nämns. 

Löfvén kanske skulle börja lyssna på några fler än ledningen för FHM. Jag bara råkade tänka på Rasputin. För att gå lite utanför bloggens ämne så verkar utrikesministern Linde vara bättre än en pappattrapp, vilket man inte kan säga om alla ministrar.

 Swedish authorities have now started to worry about what will happen when schools open up. None of them mention face masks in media. State religion is always state religion.

Svensk myndigheter börjar nu oroa sig för vad som skall hända när skolorna öppnar igen. Ingen av dem har nämnt ordet mynskydd i media. Statsreligion är alltid statsreligion.

Late blogging today. I stopped to think about the PM and came up with the following, having no idea about how things really work.

Leadership or followership?

Suppose that the PM gathers a number of people who has a good clue to what they are talking about. He listens to them, thinks and then makes a decision. Then we can talk about leadership.

Suppose that the PM only listens to one person and does what he says. Then we can talk about followership.

I cannot refrain from asking myself if Sweden today has a leader or a follower.

Sen bloggning idag. Jag reflekterade över Löfvén och landade i följande, utan att ha en aning om hur det förhåller sig i verkligheten.

Ledarskap eller följarskap?

Antag att Löfvén samlar ett antal sakkunniga omkring sig. Han lyssnar på dem, tänker efter och fattar sedan beslut. Då kan man tala om ledarskap.

Antag att Löfvén endast lyssnar på en person och gör precis som han säger. Då kan man tala om följarskap.

Jag kan inte låta bli att fråga mig om Sverige idag har en ledare eller en följare.

Very little blog inspiration today. I started to think about the upcomning vaccination-strategy. I wonder if it is going to be better than the test-strategy. Some people seem to be more interested to arrange the line to limited resourses in a "fair" way than to create sufficient resources.

Those who wants to arrange the line usually claim that "use to society" shall rule your number in the line. All ideas about equality seems to be forgotten, only utility counts. The more one thinks about it, the more disagreeable the "use to society"-people stand out, especially as they imply that there are also people who are of no or low use for society.

Ingen direkt blogginspiration idag. Började fundera över vaccinationsstrategin. Undrar om den kommer att bli bättre än teststrategin. En del människor verkar vara mer intresserade av att ordna kön till begränsade resurser på ett "rättvist" sätt än att skapa tillräckliga resurser.
De som vill ordna kö brukar vara noga med att det är "samhällsnytta" som skall styra. Jämlikheten blir som bortblåst, nu skall människor rangordnas efter sin nytta. Ju man tänker på det, desto obehagligare känns de som talar om samhällsnyttiga, och då indirekt även om icke-samhällsnyttiga, männsikor.

Very short blogging today. I hope that no one dies today either. Text-TV reports new cases in homes for elderly in Skåne - Worrying.
