The discussion about opening up the cultural world goes on, hotly. No one seems to want to enter face masks into the equation. I wonder if that might make a difference. 

The Mininster of Interior talks about freedom with responsibilty.  I am slightly confused as to what this responsibility is. Will society sanction anyone who does not live up to this responsibility. On the latter point, I am quite convinced that this will not happen.

Diskussionen om att öppna kulturvärlden går het. Ingen verkar vilja föra in munskydd i ekvationen, det kanske skulle göra skillnad. Damberg talar om frihet under ansvar. Jag är lätt förvirrad, vad består detta ansvar i? Kommer samhället att utkräva ansvar av någon? På den senare punkten känner jag mig dock övertygad om att så inte kommer att ske. 

20 August, Thursday, Day 141

Society, with no responsability

During a tour in the subway today, I heard instructions from the driver, but no one makes sure that they are carried out. I think that this describes society of today. Society makes speaches, but no action. 

Government versus the Stockholm local transportation company (SL) is a clear example. A Government body says that the number of passengers per vehicle shall be limitied, but SL makes no effort to make sure that this is the case. This cannot be unknown to the Government, but they turn the blind eye to realities.

This is letting people down. There is always a number of persons who ignore instructions, and society needs to handle these persons. Now, society is hapless, thinking that they have done their part when the speach is made. Considering how much society costs, it ought to be better than that. There is a systems error somewhere.

Samhället UPA

Under en tunnelbanetur idag hörde jag ett förmanande men trevligt tal av föraren, men ingen säkerställer att reglerna följs. Jag tror detta sammanfattar dagens samhälle. Samhället förmanar, men gör inget. 

Regeringen kontra SL är ett typexempel. FHM rekommenderar att antalet passagerare skall begränsas, men SL gör inget för att så skall vara fallet. Det här kan inte vara okänt för regeringen, som slår blindögat till. 

Det här är att svika en stor del av sitt ansvar. Det finns alltid ett antal människor som struntar i förmaningar och det är samhällets roll att hantera dessa. Nu står samhället emellertid handfallet och anser att man gjort sitt när förmaningarna är utdelade. Med tanke på hur mycket samhället kostar borde det vara bättre än så. Det finns förmodligen ett systemfel någonstans. 

19 August, Wednesday, Day 140

 Least Smart Today

Might as well blog now. The record for "least smart today" has been set, and probably for a long time. The manager of the Authority for Peoples' Health (FHM) has, regarding face masks, said to a TV-company that: 

"We do not want to let the transportation companies pack passengers in busses and trains, referring to face masks." (Telegram från TT/Omni 19 augusti 2020, 06.45)

It hardly needs to be pointed out that this is not a matter of "either or" but of "both". FHM has already recommended that the transportation companies shall limit the number of passengers in each vehicle. The recommendation is good, the problem is that no one is supervising it. This recommendation, enforced, plus face masks, should generate a feeling that we are doing what we can. 

The way I see it, this is not a medical matter, it is a matter of good thinking. If not earlier, the PM now ought to think about which advisors he has.

Minst smart idag

Det är lika bra att blogga nu. Rekordet för "minst smart idag" har satts och lär inte överträffas på länge. FHM:s gd Johan Karlsson har appropå munskydd sagt till TV4 att "Vi vill inte låta företagen tränga ihop passagerare i bussar och tåg och hänvisa till munskydd." (Telegram från TT/Omni 19 aug 2020, 06.45)

Att det inte är en fråga om "antingen eller" utan om "både ock" behöver väl inte påpekas. FHM har gett ut en bra rekommendation om att trafikföretagen skall begränsa antalet personer per fordon. Problemet är att ingen ser till att rekommendationen följs. Denna rekommendation, plus munskydd, skulle ge en känsla av att vi gör vad som står i vår makt. 

Som jag ser det är det här inte en medicinsk fråga, det är en fråga om klokskap. Om inte tidigare så borde Löfvén nu börja tvivla på sina rådgivare. 

18 August, Tuesday, Day 139

Today's Text-TV reports that the Authority for Peoples' Health (FMH) is still thinking about face masks. This generates a number of questions. One of them is: What should have happened if the Corona had been more deadly? Does FHM have the ability to act fast if needed?

My theory is that in the old slow days, FHM managed to recruit a couple of the least agile persons in Sweden to leading positions. The theory continues: Any Swedish PM ought to consider which people he or she has in important positions. 

The FHM stance does of course only work in an environment where media is tame. The next time there is a nice speach about the press, I will only shake my head.

Dagens Text-TV rapporterar att FHM inte har avskrivit tanken på munskydd, man funderar på saken. Ett antal frågor inställer sig, bland annat hur det skulle ha gått om Coronan hade varit dödligare. Har FHM förmågan att agera snabbt om det behövs?

Min hypotes är att FHM i tider av stiltje lyckats rekrytera ett par av Sveriges minst handlingskraftiga människor till ledande positioner. Fortsättningen på tanken är att varje svensk statsminister borde reflektera över vilka människor man har i viktiga befattningar. 

FHM:s segdragande fungerar naturligtvis endast i en miljö där media är helt tama. Nästa gång som någon säger vackra ord om pressen kommer jag bara att skaka på huvudet. 

17 August Monday, Day 138

The trend is clear, we are getting sloppy. One of today's news was that more rave-parties now are organized. Tegnell complains. This might be one of the core problems, much complaining but no action. 

It the party participants were heavily fined and the organizers brought to court, a lot would be different. The way it is now, society risks to appear as a whining parent, that just complains but never does anything. 

SWEDISH

Trenden är tydlig, vi börjar tappa garden. En av dagens nyheter var att det nu anordnas fler rejvfester. Tegnell går ut och kritiserar. Här har vi nog ett av kärnproblemen, klagomål men ingen handling. Om man delade ut höga böter till deltagarna och åtalade anstiftarna skulle det vara annorlunda. Som det är nu riskerar staten att framstå som "en gnällig förälder" som bara klagar och inte gör något. 

16 August, Sunday, Day 137

The face mask battle goes on. It now seems to be "Tegnell against the rest", although Tegnell seems to have one supporter in the medical society. In the discussion, the PM is invisible. 

To me, the question is simple: Is it better to do something than to do nothing?

Striden om munskydden fortsätter. Just nu ser det ut att vara "Tegnell mot resten". Tegnell verkar dock ha en supporter i medicinsamhället  Löfvén är osynlig i diskussionen. 

För mig är frågan fortfarande enkel: Är det bättre att göra något än inget?

15 August, Saturday, Day 137

Denmark will now call for face masks in public transportation. Then the following question emerges: Who is the smartest, the Swedish or the Danish PM? Myself, I am leaning towards the Danish. 

When the Crona eventually is summed up, I suspect that the face masks will be one of the major questions. John F. Kennedy and his limited number of advisors made themselves well known for groupthinking in the Bay of Pigs invasion. After the Corona, maybe a little something could be added to the groupthinking theory, maybe a bit wisely with a "yes, yes, that is the way it is".

Danmark kommer nu att införa krav på munskydd i kollektivtrafiken. Då inställer sig frågan: Vem är smartast Stefan Löfvén eller Mette Frederiksen? Själv lutar jag åt Mette. 

När det stora bokslutet över Coronan skall göras misstänker jag att munskydden blir en av frågorna. John F. Kennedy och hans begränsade krets med rådgivare gjorde sig kända för "gruppknäpp" när de beslutade sig för invasionen i Grisbukten. Efter Coronan kanske ytterligare ett strå kan läggas till gruppknäppsstacken med ett lite förnumstigt "jo, jo, så är det". 

När jag skulle se vad gruppknäpp egentligen heter på engelska hittade jag en ganska intressant tankegång på engelska Wikipedia, där jag sparar den första delen nedan.
