Who is the smartest?

The Authority for People's Health (FHM) is in disagreement with a number of regions concerning the Astra vaccine. It seems like the policy making process is not working well. These sort of matters should be sorted out smoothy. 

That the FHM have more knowledge or wisdom that the regions does at a first glace seem unlikely. The fact that Government pays FHM salaries does not make them better. That the FHM is more knowledable and wiser than the sum of the regions seems to me as highly unlikely.

Vilka är smartast?

FHM och några av regionerna är oense om Astravaccin. Det verkar som om beslutsprocessen inte fungerar bra. Sådana här frågor borde lösa sig smidigt. 

Att FHM skulle var kunnigare och klokare än regionerna tror jag a priori inte på. Det faktum att staten betalar lönerna på FHM gör dem inte bättre. Att FHM är kunnigare och klokare än summan av regionerna verkar för mig helt osannolikt.

Fewer dead and somewhat fewer newly infected, good. 

Society at mercy

Minister of Social Affairs says that it will get better, if people follow recommendations. Society thus places itself at the mercy its sloppiest members. It would be reasonable for society to make sure that the recommendations are followed. Unfotunately, too many officials live by the motto "It cannot be done". 

This motto can most likely be traced to "I am too lazy", "I do not want to", "I do not know how to do it" or "I do not dare to". 

Vaccine and Patents

Text-TV says that revoking vaccine patents is considered. Is this wise or a populist move? I hope that the full picture is taken into account before a decision is made.

Samhället utlämnat på nåd och onåd

Socialministern säger att det kommer att bli bättre, om människor följer rekommendationerna. Samhället lämnar alltså ut sig på nåd och onåd till de slarvigaste medborgarna. Det vore rimligt att samhället såg till att rekommendationerna följdes. Tyvärr har många i offentligheten valspråket "Det går inte". 

Valspråket kan sannolikt spåras till "Jag orkar inte", "Jag vill inte", "Jag vet inte hur man gör" eller "Jag vågar inte". 

Vaccin och patent

Text-TV berättar vaccinpatent kanske kommer att upphävas. Är detta klokskap eller populism? Jag hoppas att man betraktar hela bilden innan ett beslut fattas. 

5 May, Wednesday, Day 392

Today, there were 60 dead and 7,041 newly infected. I wonder who gets infected and dies right now. If I watched the press conferences, I might have known. 

Another question occurred to me. How much information is on the new cases is collected? Were they infected in the family? Did they use face masks? What do they work with? Mabey I can read the answers in the Commission paper in the future.

Idag, 60 döda och 7 041 nysmittade. Jag undrar vilka som blir smittade och dör nu. Om jag tittade på presskonferenserna kanske jag skulle veta det. 

Slog också av frågan hur mycket fakta man samlar om respektive nysmittad. Blev de smittade i familjen? Använde de munskydd? Vad arbetar de med? Jag kanske kan läsa om detta i kommissionens rapport i framtiden. 

4 May, Tuesday, Day 391

No figures for new cases today, but they are supposed to be smaller than the ones of last week. Always something to be happy about. 

Complaints and Disobliging as State Religion

Yesterday, a number of policemen got vaccinations which otherwise would have been thrown away. (Sebastian Hagberg, Omni, Idag 06:21)

The event has been made into a major problem, and people have "reacted negatively". I think that the number of Swedes that do not welcome the police to these doses is small, but the hunt for "injustices" has been raised to state religion. This is not good for society, generosity generates progress, and vice versa.

Inga siffror för nysmittade idag, men det lär vara färre än förra veckan. Alltid något att glädja sig åt. 

Småsnålhet och oginhet som statsreligion 

Igår fick ett antal poliser i Stockholm doser som annars skulle ha kastats. (Sebastian Hagberg, Omni, Idag 06:21)

Det här görs till ett stort problem och människor "reagerar negativt". Jag tror inte att särskilt många missunnar polisen de här doserna, men jakten på "orättvisor" har upphöjts till statsreligion.   Det här är inte bra för samhället, generositet gynnar utveckling och tvärt om.  

3 May, Monday, Day 390

No major news today. With joy, I realize that my vaccination is now on its third week. 

It seems like the pandemic soon will be over. My guess is that the PM will praise himself, his government, the Authority for People's Health and the Swedes in general when everything is back to normal. I am not so sure how well deserved this praise will be.

Inga stora nyheter idag. Konstaterade med glädje att min vaccination nu är inne på sin tredje vecka. 

Det verkar som om pandemin snart är över. Min gissning är att Löfvén kommer att berömma sig själv, sin regering och FHM, samt alla svenskar när allt har återgått till det normala. Jag är inte säker på hur välförtjänt det berömmet kommer att vara.

Smartest Today

MD Maria Rotzén Östlund, head of Infections in Stockholm, today stated that the demonstrations against Corona restrictions were totally unacceptable. 

Good with someone who speaks out. 

Least Smart

The way the demonstrations have been handled makes the entire chain of command in legal matters, starting with the PM, the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Justice, to appear as "least smart". One can suspect that fear of the the small but loud group which would object to a resolute behavior from society creates the lameness. This is not a comfortable thought. 

A Real Pandemic Law

A real pandemic law would include up to five years of prison, up to one million in fines and total responsibility for costs incurred by different actions. Some 75 percent of all Swedes would most likely support such a law. One could guess that two percent would oppose this law and that the reminder would be "do not know".

Maria Rotzén Östlund, smittskyddsläkare i Stockholm, betecknade demonstrationerna mot Corona-restriktioner i Stockholm som helt oacceptabla. 

Bra med någon som talar klartext. 

Mindre smarta

Sättet att hantera demonstrationerna i Stockholm får hela samhällets juridiska kedja, med Löfvén, Damberg och Johansson i toppen, att framstå som mindre smarta. Tanken att handlingsförlamningen förmodligen skapas av en rädsla för den lilla men högröstade andel av Sveriges befolkning som skulle motsätta sig ett mer resolut uppträdande är inte uppbygglig. 

En riktig pandemilag

En riktig pandemilag skulle innehålla upp till fem års fängelse, upp till en miljon i böter och ansvar för kostnader som olika handlingar skapar. Minst 75 procent av Sveriges befolkning står sannolikt bakom. Gissningsvis är två procent helt emot en sådan lag och övriga "vet ej". 

1 May, Saturday, Day 387

Today, there were demstrations against the Corona-restrictions in Stockholm. The Swedish picture of ourselves as the smartest people in the world was probably dented. 

The Police seems to have acted lamely. I think that 70 percent, maybe 80, of the Swedes would have wanted to see more police action, with all the demonstrators arrested and given sentences of concequence. We have a lot of quagmires, also a Police quagmire.

Idag har det demonstrerats mot Corona-restriktioner i Stockholm. Svenskarnas bild av sig själva som världens smartaste har förmodligen fått sig en knäck. 

Polisens agerande verkar ha varit lamt. Jag tror att 70 procent av svenskarna, kanske 80, hade velat se ett kraftfullt ingripande, med omhändertagande av alla demonstranter och kännbara straff. Vi har många härdsmältor, även en polishärdsmälta.
