On the Right Track

The number of newly infected is now 3,000 instead of 6,000 or 7,000, which it was not that long ago. 

The rate of vaccinations is going up. Good.

The Study We Will Never See

Even if Sweden now is better at vaccinations than before, we are not as good as our three "most-hated-nations", Israel, USA and the UK. 

It would be interesting with a study that compared the vaccination process in the four different nations. In a country where largely all society oriented research is government controlled, we will, however, most likely never see such a study.

Antalet nya smittade är nu 3 000 istället för 6 000 eller 7 000 som det var för inte så länge sedan. Vaccinationstakten har gått upp. Bra. 

Studien vi aldrig lär få se

Även om Sverige nu är bättre på att vaccinera så är vi inte lika bra som våra tre "mest-kritiserade-nationer", Israel, USA och Storbritannien. 

Det vore intressant med en studie som jämförde vaccinationsprocessen i de fyra olika länderna. I ett land där i stort sett all samhällsorienterad forskning är statskontrollerad så lär vi dock aldrig få se en sådan studie.

Important Policy Explanations

Minister of Social Affairs today made statements in a Swedish daily, according to Text-TV. Close downs were critizised with reference to "long term health concequences" and "people's well being". A number of follow up questions could be asked. 

Minister of Social Affairs also adhered to the, from several angles, doubtful theory of "they would have died anyways" with the calculations of "surplus mortality". 

The statements could become an important source for those who in the future tries to understand the Swedish Corona-policy.

Hallengren har idag gjort uttalanden i Svenska Dagbladet, enligt Text-TV. Nedstängning kritiseras med hänvisning till "långsiktiga hälsokonsekvenser" och "människors välmående". En mängd följdfrågor inställer sig. 

Hallengren ansluter sig också till den ur flera synvinklar tveksamma "de skulle ha dött i alla fall"-teorin med överdödlighetsberäkningar. 

Intervjun med Hallengren kan bli en viktig framtida källa för den som i efterhand vill förstå den svenska Corona-politiken.

Today, there were 4,619 newly infected, which is a clear decrease from the old figures of 6,000 to 7,000. Good. Many dead, unfortunatlely. 

There is Something Rotten in the State of Sweden

Text-TV today reports that the State Secretary of Minister of Education has asked the Director General for education to hide facts from the opposition. 

The remarkable thing is that the Director General obviously did as he was asked. It hereby gets obvious that some ot the higher servants of society serves those in power, and not society. How has this worked during the Corona? Unclear, who has Tegnell been working for?

The solution must be to replace a number of civil servants by unselfish people, who focus on society.

Det finns något ruttet i samhällsapparaten

Text-TV rapporterar att Anna Ekströms statssekreterare har bett Skolverkets generaldirektör att undanhålla information från oppositionen. 

Det märkliga är att generaldirektören uppenbarligen gör som statssekreteraren vill. Det blir alltså tydligt att en del av samhällets högsta tjänstemän tjänar makthavarna och inte samhället. Hur det här har fungerat under Coronan är otydligt, vem har Tegnell arbetat åt?

Lösningen måste vara att ett antal tjänstemän byts ut mot sakliga och osjälviska människor.

The Indian Mutation

The Indian mutation is spreading in Sweden. I wonder if the authorities do anything to stop the spread, or if they are just watching, and taking notes. 

Unfortunately, there are many in the public sector living by the words "there is nothing one can do".

Indiska mutationen

Den indiska mutationen börjar komma till Sverige. Jag undrar om samhället gör något för att hindra dess spridning, eller om man bara tittar på och noterar. 

Tyvärr finns det många i den offentliga sektorn som lever efter parollen "det finns ingenting man kan göra".

Fewer in Intensive Care

Johanna Sandwall, in charge of preparations for crisis at the government medical authority [roughly translated], tells us that the number of patients in intensive care is decreasing rapidly. (Helena Sällström, Omni, Idag 20.50)

This is good news. It is also interesting that the government medical authority has a person in charge of preparations for crisis. One day, I will try to find out what the mission of that office is.

Färre intensivvårdade

Johanna Sandwall, krisberedskapschef på Socialstyrelsen, meddelar att antalet patienter på iva minskar i snabb takt. (Helena Sällström, Omni, Idag 20.50)

En god nyhet. Det är också intressant att Socialstyrelsen har en krisberedskapschef. Någon gång skall jag försöka sätta mig in i vad den befattningen innebär.

Not Surprising

Yesterday, I used my newly won freedom to visit the local mall, although wearing my face mask. At once, I understood why the disease is spreading. A lot of people, despite a late hour. Most people were not wearing face masks, despite the fact that the loudspeakers regularly called for them. Not even the people working in the stores were wearing face masks. Keeping distance in such an environment is of course a pure chimera. 

In the beginning of the pandemic, Government and the Authority for People's Health (FHM) planted a sceptisism around face masks, and this sceptisism seems to be difficult to reverse.

Inte konstigt

Utnyttjade igår min nyvunna frihet till ett besök i Täby centrum, iförd munskydd. Jag förstod direkt varför smittspridningen är som den är. Mycket folk, trots en sen timma. De flesta bar inte munskydd, trots att högtalarna ofta uppmanade till att bära munskydd. Inte ens de som arbetade i affärerna bar munskydd. Att det hela tiden skall gå att hålla avstånd i en sådan miljö är naturligtvis en ren chimär. 

I början av pandemin inskärpte regeringen och FHM en skepsis mot munskydd, och den verkar inte vara så lätt att ändra i efterhand.

Good

One person in a southern concil has not followed the rules, and was fined 2,250 SEK, which is good. 

Bad

The council also wanted the person to pay the cost of the guards which he had incurred on the council. The court said no, which is bad.

If people got to pay what damages they cause, we would have a better society. I hope that the concil brings the case up to the next level in the court system.

En person i Höörs kommun som inte har följt reglerna har fått 2 250 kronor i böter i Lunds tingsrätt, vilket är bra. 

Dåligt

Höörs kommun ville dessutom att personen skulle betala de väktare som denne hade tvingat kommunen att sätta in. 

Tingrätten ville inte gå med på skadeståndet, vilket är illa. Om människor fick betala vad de ställde till med så skulle vi ha ett bättre samhälle. Hoppas Höör överklagar.
