479 newly infected, mostly young people. 

The Corona is almost gone from the newsflow. The authorities are keeping a low profile, despite a spread of the disease which makes other nations react vigrously. The question is whether it is wise to let the bars and restaurants stay open late when the younger people are driving the spread of the disease.

Coronan är så gott som bortblåst från nyhetsflödet. Myndigheterna ligger lågt, trots en smittspridning som får andra nationer att reagera hårt. Frågan är om det är klokt att hålla krogarna öppna sent när ungdomarna driver smittan.

An increase in the spread of the disease in Stockholm. It is mostly young people being hit. 

For me, it is still impossible to understand why vaccinated people are urged to work from home.

Smittspridningen i Stockholm börjar öka. Det är främst ungdomar som drabbas. För mig är det fortfarande obegripligt varför vaccinerade uppmanas att arbeta hemifrån.

The Cronona has made it possible to clearly see a few phenomena, among these:

Least Smart in Europe

The attitude to the Corona creates a possibility to make a list of "least smart in Europe". Myself, I do not have the resources to make the complete list. It is, however, obvious that France and Cyprus (here included in Europe) will rank high due to considerable public protests against vaccinations etc. 

It would be interesting to see where Sweden winds up on a "least smart" list. 

The Agility of the Swedish Government

The Coronoa has shown that the Swedish Government lacks agility. The pattern is repeated in the matter of criminality. Government expresses feelings, but is empty-handed for concrete measures.

Minst smarta i Europa

Förhållningssättet till Coronan skapar en möjlighet att göra en lista över "minst smarta i Europa". Själv har jag inte resurserna för att göra hela listan. Det är dock uppenbart att Frankrike och Cypern (inkluderas här i Europa) kommer på höga placeringar genom omfattande protester mot vaccinationer m.m. 

Det vore intressant att se var Sverige skulle placera på "minst smart"-listan. 

Den svenska regeringens handlingskraft

Coronan visar att den svenska regeringen inte är handlingskraftig. Mönstret går igen vad gäller kriminaliteten. Regeringen uttrycker sina känslor, men kan inte göra något konkret.

A Moral Build Up

Text-TV today reports that the EU is celebrating and declaring victory, now being 0,1 percent ahead of the USA in vaccinations 55,5 to 55,4. 

The following Text-TV item says that 87,8 percent of the British have received one dose. Obviously, the EU does not want to compare to the latter figure

One can also note that Text-TV now for the first time refers to Our World in Data.

Text-TV rapporterar idag att EU firar och förklarar seger. Man ligger nu 0,1 procent före USA i vaccinationstakt, 55,5 mot 55,4. 

Följande Text-TV nyhet förtäljer att 87,8 procent av alla britter har fått en dos. EU vill uppenbarligen inte jämföra sig med den senare siffran.

Man kan också lägga märke till att Text-TV nu för första gången refererar till Our World in Data. 

17 July, Saturday, Day 464

The disease is spreading on the continent. No major Corona news in Sweden. I happened to see a message from the Authority for People's Health on the Internet: "Keep struggling" [freely translated], although the message also urged people to vaccation at home. 

At large, I think that the Government communication has been unprecise, when clear rules are in demand. I hope that someone will write a thesis on Swedish Government communication under the pandemic. It could be well worth reading.

Smittan sprider sig på kontinenten. Inga stora Corona-nyheter i Sverige. Jag råkade se en annons från FHN på nätet: "Håll ut" var budskapet, i och för sig kombinerat med en uppmaning att semestra hemma. 

I stort tycker jag att den offentliga kommunikationen har präglats av otydlighet, när det är tydliga regler som de flesta efterfrågar. Hoppas någon doktorerar på statens kommunikation under pandemin. Kan bli en intressant avhandling.

Lack of Agility

The disease is spreading in Europe. In Spain it seems to be partying youths and  in the UK, it seems to be bad thinking by the political leadership. In France, people were demonstrating against demads for vaccinations. It seems like Europe has a problem.

Saknad handlingskraft

Smittan sprids i Europa. I Spanien verkar det vara festande ungdomar och i Storbritannien verkar det vara dåligt omdöme från lagstiftaren. I Frankrike protesterade människor mot vaccinationskrav i onsdags. Det verkar som om Europa har ett problem.

Smartest Today

Professor emerita Annika Dejmek thinks that everyone between the age of twelve and seventeen ought to wear face masks in school this fall. (Aftonbladet (Swedish daily) via Vendela Bolin, Omni, Idag 17:56)

Thereby, it gets easy to see a "smartest today" today. Such a rule would also be an intresting test of the ability of Swedish society to enforce a rule.

Smartast idag

"Smartast idag" blir därmed lätt att utse. En sådan regel skulle också vara ett intressant test på samhällets förmåga att uppehålla en regel.
