We are now halfway through the critical month, and I am still healthy. It should, however, be remembered that the risks are increasing for each day.

The news (Text-TV) before noon were optimistic. Societies will be opened up. The EU Commission has obviously made a plan for opening up Europe. One phrasing caught my eye, "step by step and on scientific ground". Of course, it all depends on your definition of science. If science is defined as able to explain and predict, one could wonder how scientific the EU plan could be.

I am still irritated by the fact that the Swedish society has not started testing on scale that can be noticed. Today, a letter to the editor in a local paper showed that I am not alone. The writer suggested that there should be "fever guards" at the entrance to the local mall. Anybody with a fever should be denied entrance and a local Corona test place should be established. This way, the mall would to higher degree be "Corona safe".
The measure would probably safe health and businesses in the mall. The writer discarded the idea that there are no resources for such a measure, claimning that money is a matter of priorities. It shall be interesting to see if local politicians react on letter to the editor.

The press conference at 14.00 reported 1,203 dead (+170) and 11,927 confirmed infected. The Text-TV reported the dead, but not the infected. The latter figure comes from the new app Omni (Anna-Cajsa Torkelsson, 14.01).

In the major Swedis newspaper on-line edition, there is a fierce discussion with 1,372 comments by 3 o'clock today. This is probably the largest debate in Sweden in modern times. A number of Medical Doctors have critisized the Government handling of the Corona. It would have been intresting to analyze the entire discussion, but it is too much work. A general feeling is that most of the commentors close ranks behind the government.

The Government Spring Budget was another news today. The Finance Department and Swedish media seems to agree on that the figure for the total budget shall not be published. Various sums are mention, but with no possibility to relate these figures to anything. After some searching on the Government homepage, I believe that the total budget from the beginning was 1,062 billion kronas and Parliament now has decided to augment 60 billion kronas to this amount.

I am now returning to work on hobby project number one.

Vi är nu nästan halvvägs genom ödesmånaden, och jag är fortfarande frisk. Det gäller dock att komma ihåg att riskerna ökar för varje dag.

Förmiddagens nyheter (Text-TV) andas optimism. Samhällen skall öppnas upp. EU Kommissionen har uppenbarligen gjort en plan för öppning av Europa. En formulering drog mitt öga till sig ”steg för steg och på vetenskaplig grund”. Allt beror naturligtvis på vad man har för definition på vetenskap. Om man ser vetenskap som förmåga att förklara och förutsäga kan man undra vilken vetenskaplighet det kan finnas i öppningsfrågan. 

Jag irriteras fortfarande av att samhället inte har kommit igång med provtagningar i en skala som märks. Fick idag en bekräftelse på att jag inte är ensam i min uppfattning. En insändare i den lokala reklamtidningen föreslog att man skulle ställe ”febervakten” vid alla ingångar till vårt lokala centrum. Alla med feber skulle avvisas och få gå till en Coronatest. På detta sätt skulle vårt centrum i hög utsträckning bli ”Coronasäkrat”. Åtgärden skulle sannolikt rädda både liv och företag. Insändarförfattaren avfärdade direkt tanken på att det inte finns resurser för sådan verksamhet, om inte annat skulle man kunna prioritera om från ett antal verksamheter som nu känns mindre angelägna. Skall bli intressant att se om våra lokala politiker ignorerar insändaren eller om det händer något.

På Dagens Nyheters hemsida rasar debatten vidare, med 1,372 inlägg strax före kl. 15.00. Förmodligen den största debatten i Sverige i modern tid. Ett antal läkare har kritiserat statens hantering av Coronan och debatten blir hård. Det vore intressant att analysera hela tråden, men det är mycket arbete. En spontan känsla är att de flesta sluter upp bakom myndigheterna och fördömer de kritiska.

Vårbudgeten var en annan nyhet idag. Finansdepartementet och massmedia verkar ha bestämt sig för att folk inte skall få reda på hur stor budgeten totalt sett är. Det talas om belopp hit och dit utan att man relatera siffrorna till något. Efter lite sökande på regeringens hemsida tror jag mig veta att grundbudgeten är 1 062 miljarder och att man nu beslutat att utöka den med cirka 60 miljarder.

14 April, Tuesdag

Slept well, woke up early. My Easter depression is gone. Once again, I see life in bright colours and I feel energetic. Worked on hobby project number two in the morning. Realised that my food supplies are decreasing and need to be replenished, at the latest tomorrow.

Took a look at Corona news before noon. I found nothing which caught my attention. Yesterday afternoon, Text-TV reported that the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) saw a risk for lack of fresh water in the wake of the Corona. A few hours later, they reversed and claimed the opposite. The example shows how difficult it is to predict the future.

Speaking about the future. One person suggested that I should present a couple of possible future scenarios. He thought that this could create an interesting discussion. I am thinking about it. It is difficult to make scenarios. It could even be a bit uncomfortable to describe worst case.

The press conference at 14.00 reported 1,033 (+114) dead and 11,445 (+497) confirmed infected.

I will now attend a small meeting in hobby project nr one. The meeting is a breach of caution, but hopefully I will not be punished to hard.

Sov gott, vaknade tidigt. Min påskförstämning har gått över. Jag ser åter livet i ljusa färger och känner mig energisk. Kastade mig över hobbyprojekt nr två på morgonen. Konstaterade att mina matförråd börjar minska och måste fyllas på senast under morgondagen.

Ägnade en stund på förmiddagen åt Corona-nyheter, men hittade inget som intresserade mig direkt. Igår eftermiddag meddelade Text-TV först att MSB ser en risk för att det skall färskvattenbrist i Cornans fotspår. Ett par timmar senare hade MSB backat på uttalandet och hävdade motsatsen. Exemplet visar hur svårt det kan vara att sia om framtiden.

På tal om framtiden så föreslog en person att jag skulle lägga upp några möjliga framtidsscenarion på bloggen. Han menade att detta skulle kunna skapa en intressant diskussion. Funderar på saken. Det är svårt att göra scenarion. Det kan till och med vara lite obehagligt att beskriva ”worst case”.

Jag kommer nu att bege mig till ett litet möte i hobbyprojekt nr ett. Mötet är brott mot försiktighetsprincipen, som förhoppningsvis inte skall straffa sig för hårt.

13 April, Monday

Slept well, woke up early, did nothing. Looked briefly at the Text-TV. I saw that South Korea will ship 600,000 Corona-tests to the USA tomorrow Tuesday. Felt that the Swedish Government could have been a bit more agile and placed an order as well.
Realised that the world has changed. Not that long ago, it would have been Asiatic nations turning to the West for medical supplies, now it is vice-versa.
The press conference at 14.00 reported 20 dead, for a total of 919. Text-TV said nothing about the number of infected. Now I publish this post and then return to doing nothing.
Did take a look at the news app "Omni". The journalist Patrik Dahlin reported at 14.25 that the number of confirmed infected now was 10,948. He refererred to the Authority for People's Health.

Sov gott, vaknade tidigt, gjorde ingenting. Kastade ett öga på Text-TV:n. Såg att Sydkorea kommer att sända 600 000 Corona-tester till USA imorgon tisdag. Tyckte att det var lite synd att den svenska regeringen inte har hållit sig framme där.

Konstaterade att världen har förändrats. För inte så länge sedan hade asiatiska länder vänt sig till väst för sjukvårdsutrustning, nu är det tvärt om.

Presskonferensen meddelade 20 nya döda, med totalt 919. Text-TV sade inget om antalet smittade. Publicerar detta inlägg och övergår sedan åter till att göra ingenting.

12 April, Sunday

Uneventful day. Did nothing, except for putting my diary into this blogg. I can feel that isolation is no good. I am simply getting a bit lazy.

The pressconference at 14.00 reported 899 dead (+17) and 10 483 infected. There was a reservation that the hollidays might create a delay in the reporting.

During the evening, I walked down to the store around the corner. I bought milk, Pepsi Light with raspeberry taste and sausage.
During the long walk on Wednesday, I hurt a foot a bit. It has to heal before I can start with my walks again.
Next target is Thursday morning, half of the crucial month then covered.

Händelselös dag. Gjorde ingenting, utom att lägga in min dagbok i denna blogg. Jag känner att isolering inte är bra. Jag börjar helt enkelt bli lite slö.

Presskonferensen 14.00 rapporterade 899 döda  (+17) och 10 483 smittade. Man garderade med att helgen kan ha skapat viss eftersläpning i siffrorna.

Gick under kvällen ned till butiken runt hörnan. Köpte mjölk, Pepsi light med hallonsmak och falukorv.

Under onsdagens långpromenad ådrog jag mig en fotskada som måste läka innan jag kan börja med promenaderna igen.

11 April, Saturday

Best night's sleep for a long time. Up at approximately 10.00. One third of the crucial month has now passed.
The news talks about 18 000 tests. "Too little and too late", I think that MacArthur said that.
I look foreward to today's pressconference, hoping that things have slowed down.
No meeting in the local democracy project today. What to do now? Decided to do nothing, totally in accordance with the recommendations from the Authority.
I am beginning to understand that the government strategy is to achieve "flock immunity", although I have not really understood how this is going to work in practice.

No steps since I did nothing.

Bästa nattsömnen på länge. Upp cirka kl 10.00. En tredjedel av ödesmånaden är avverkad. Nyheterna talar om 18 000 tester. ”För lite och för sent” tror jag det var MacArthur som sade.

Ser fram mot dagens presskonferens, hoppas det har lugnat sig.

Peter blåste av dagens systemsittning. Vad skall man göra nu? Beslöt mig för att göra ingenting, helt i linje med Folkhälsomyndighetens anvisningar. Börjar förstå att strategin är att vi skall bli ”flockimmuna”, utan att riktigt begripa hur detta skall gå till.

10 April, Friday

A heavy evening at my local friendes. Up at 10.00. No great news in the morning, except for a statement från the State Epidemicologist, Dr Tegnell. He claimed that we have a doubling in infections every six or seven days. He estimated that five to ten percent were infected on 9 April.

I made some fast maths and realised that 100 percent then are infected in the first week of May, assuming that 7.5 percent were infected on 9 April. It them seems like Tegnell is raising Britton's estimate, which started this blogg. Tegnell actually referred to the situation in Stockholm, and it might be worse there than in Sweden on the average. This could be worth thinking about.

The public sector is still going slow with tests, but it seems like something is going on.

I have now understood how it works. Every day, there is a press conference at 14.00, giving the new figures. Today it was 870 dead (+77). Good with a decrease. The number of infected is 9 685, an increase with 2 000 since Tuesdag.

Blev en tung kväll hos mina lokala vänner. Upp klockan 10.00. Inga stora nyheter på morgonen, utom ett inlägg från Tegnell. Han hävdade att vi har en fördubbling cirka var sjunde dag och att den 9 april hade 7,5 procent (5-10) smittade. Räknade snabbt och kom fram till att 100 procent då är smittade i första veckan av maj, med antagandet att 7,5 procent var smittade den 9 april. Det verkar alltså om att Tegnell övertrumfar Britton något. Tegnell refererade i och för sig till Stockholm och det kanske är värre där än i Sverige i genomsnitt. Detta kan vara något att uppmärksamma. 

Den offentliga sektorn segar fortfarande med tester, men något verkar vara på gång.

Jag har nu förstått hur det fungerar. En daglig presskonferense klockan 14.00 rapporterar de nya siffrorna. Idag var det 870 döda (+77). Bra med nedgång. Antalet smittade är 9 685, en ökning med 2 000 sedan i tisdags.

9 April, Thursday

Got up at 09.30. Slept relatively well. No greater news on the ninth day. Sorted my papers into two piles, one for each hobby project.
Walked over to my local friends around 13.00. I dug two pits and got lots of wine and food.
The news tells of 793 dead, but not of the number of infected.
3 600 steps.

Upp klockan 09.30. Sov relativt gott. Inga större nyheter den nionde dagen. Sorterade mina papper i två högar, en för varje hobbyprojekt.

Tofflade iväg till mina lokala vänner runt klockan 13.00. Grävde två gropar och fick massor med vin och mat.

Nyheterna meddelar 793 döda, men inte antalet smittade.
