- The political temperature has increased during the week, possibly under pressure of increased spread of the disease. At the same time, the PM is digging in deeper into his present positions. From a human angle, something else could probably not be expected. Metamorphoses are not common.

The opposition then faces two alternatives. The first is to continue to complain for deaf ears and the second is to dispose of the Government. Which outcome is then the more likely? Continued complaining is my guess. 

- The union for shops employees is, quite understandable, not happy about Christmas crowding in the stores. They threaten to stop the work. When a shop owner is confronted by the choise of a day of good revenues and spread of the disease, what will he chose?

As long as society does not act, the choice is most likely badly needed revenues. General advice without control and without consequences will genererate "fighting in the streeets", like this example.

ADDITION at 17.26 hours

The PM's press conference today was a major step forward, agile, almost a metamorphosis. Now the next question remains: How will the new rules be enforced?

Another question is whether the opposition will be satisfied after the new steps, or if they will call for even heavier measures.

- Den politiska temperaturen har stigit under veckan, möjligen under trycket av en ökande smittspridning. Löfvén gräver samtidigt ned sig allt djupare i sina positioner. Mänskligt att döma är det kanske inte något annat att vänta. Metamorfoser är ovanliga. 

Oppositionen har uppenbarligen två alternativ, att fortsätta att klaga för döva öron eller att avsätta regeringen. Vad är då stalltipset? Fortsatt klagande enligt mig. 

- Handelsanställda är, helt förståeligt, missnöjda med trängseln i julhandeln. Facket hotar med att stoppa arbetet. När en butiksägare ställs mellan en fet dagskassa och smittskydd, vad väljer han? 

Så länge som samhället inte agerar blir det förmodligen en välbehövlig dagskassa. Allmänna råd utan kontroll och konsekvenser tvingar fram uppgörelser "på gatan", som till exempel den här.

Löfvéns presskonferens idag var ett viktigt steg framåt, handlingskraftigt, nästan en metamorfos. Nu återstår nästa fråga: Hur kommer efterlevnaden av de nya bestämmelserna att följas upp?

En annan fråga är om oppositionen kommer att nöjdförklara sig, eller vilja gå längre.
