It just occurred to me that our generation is experiencing an historical event. It is always good to ask oneself what history books will says about one's own time in perhaps fifty or a hundred years. Maybe they find the period totally uninteresting and say nothing.
The Corona, however, has most likely given the 2020s a spot in Swedish history books, possibly toghether with crime rate.
What will future historians focus on? Hardly economy and finance, that is too complicated. I do, however, guess that Government decision making will be of interest both for historians and sociologists. Here parallels to the Bay of Pigs might come up.
My guess is that decision making on Government level is haphazardly and briefly documented, not reflecting the discussions prior to a decision. I hope that I am wrong. If I am right, future researchers will be mighty frustrated, trying to get to the core of the matter.

Det slog mig plötsligt att vår generation nu är med i en historisk händelse. Det är alltid bra att fråga sig vad historieböckerna kommer att skriva om ens egen tid om kanske 50 eller 100 år. Det kanske inte står någonting - helt ointressant.
Coronan lär dock ha gett 2020-talet en plats i svenska historieböcker, möjligen tillsammans med kriminaliteten.
Vad kommer då historikerna att ägna sig åt? Knappast ekonomin, det är för krångligt. Jag gissar dock att beslutsfattandet i regeringen kommer att intressera både historiker och sociologer. Här kan paralleller till Grisbukten vara näraliggande.
Min gissning är att beslutsfattandet på regeringsnivå är slarvigt och kortfattat dokumenterat, och inte beskriver diskussionerna innan beslut. Hoppas jag har fel. Om jag har rätt kommer framtidens forskare att vara ganska frustrerade när de skall försöka hitta pudelns kärna.
