The Government
My thinking about today's blogging drifted back and forth. Finally, the thoughts got stuck at the Government. The Government today consists of Löfvén (PM) and 22 ministers, largely a class in school. I do not think that all matters are treated in this congregation. Hence, there has to be a Cabinet. I have no idea about what this cabinet looks like. For future historians, it will be important if there are protocols from this cabinet. Without them, future research will become difficult.

I tried to take a look at the latest Government protocols, to get a bit wiser. I did, however, rapidly give up the attempts to find them. Irritating since I know that I have seen them before. The way I remember them, they were thin products, where plenty of matters had been treated at a pace of about one a minute.

During the 18th century, detailed discussion protocols were kept at government and ministerial level. Today, they enable us to follow important processes in great detail. Having no idea about how it works today, I can only hope that we have not developed backwards.

The News flow
I did then reflect on my impressions of the news flow  in general. The virus is pushed back by other news. A lot is about money. The testing activities, or rather the shortcomings of the test activities, seems to be a living question. The matter of elderly care seems to fade away. Regarding elderly care and the council budgets, an idea occurred to me: "A city swimming pool is fine, but first good elderly care". [Reference to an old Swedish election campaign poster.]

The news about councils covering up facts regarding deaths in the elderly care seems to be dead. The Democracy Minister's silence on the matter reminded about the old emperor saying: "Blood is thicker than water." In this case, he seems to have been right.

Today's Statistics 
Today's statistics says 3,674 dead (+28). A total number of 29,677 are confirmed infected. Regarding statistics, it occurred to me: Has anyone seen the underlying material for the R-figures?

Regeringen

Mina tankar kring dagens bloggning drev fram och tillbaka. Till slut fastnade de på regeringen. Regeringen består av Löfvèn och 22 ministrar, i stort sett en skolklass. Jag tror inte att alla frågor dryftas i denna församling. Det måste alltså finnas ett kabinett. Hur detta kabinett ser ut har jag ingen aning om. För en historiker blir det viktigt om det förs några protokoll i kabinettet. Utan dem blir framtida forskning besvärlig.

Jag tänkte också ta en titt på de senaste regeringsprotokollen för att bli lite klokare. Jag gav snabbt upp försöken att hitta dem. Irriterande eftersom jag vet att jag sett dem tidigare. Som jag minns var det tunna produkter, där mängder med ärenden hamrats igenom med en takt av cirka ett i minuten.

Under 1700-talet fördes noggranna diskussionsprotokoll i regeringen och kollegier, vilket gör att vi idag kan följa viktiga processer i detalj. Hur det förhåller sig idag har ingen aning om, hoppas att utvecklingen inte har gått bakåt.

Nyhetsflödet

Jag reflekterade sedan lite över hur jag upplever nyhetsflödet i stort. Viruset trängs tillbaka av andra nyheter. Mycket handlar om pengar. Testverksamheten, eller kanske bristerna i testverksamheten, verkar vara en levande fråga. Frågan om äldrevården verkar tyna bort. Jag slogs av tanken ”Gärna ett badhus, men först ett bra äldreboende”.

Nyheten om de mörkande kommunerna i Sörmland (2 maj) är nu tydligen stendöd. Demokratiministerns kompakta tystnad i frågan fick mig att tänka på den gamle kejsarens ord ”Blod är tjockare än vatten”. I det här fallet verkar han ha rätt.

Dagens statistik säger 3 674 döda (+28). Total är 29 677 bekräftat smittade. Rörande statistik slogs jag plötsligt av tanken: Har någon sett det underliggande materialet för R-talen?
